Details
The Lexmark PrintCryption Card analyzes the encrypted data stream, determines if the correct key was used to encrypt the data, decrypts the data and allows the data to be printed. If an incorrect key was used to encrypt the data, all data is discarded, host software such as VPS/Secure is notified and nothing is printed. Files that are not encrypted will print normally. For mainframe environments, Secured Output Distribution products from Levi, Ray, & Shoup, allow output to be encrypted during the entire transmission from the mainframe to the printer (end-to-end). VPS/Secure working with VPS and VPS/TCPIP encrypts output from the mainframe's MVS JES spool and sends this output over TCP/IP to a network-connected printer or MFP with a Lexmark PrintCryption Card installed and that has been defined to the VPS software on the mainframe. Lexmark offers secure printing capabilities for Microsoft Windows 2000, and Microsoft Windows XP, IBM AIX, HP-UX, CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System), Apple Mac OS X, IBM OS/390 mainframe and Command line file-send programs for Sun Solaris and Linux (Red Hat, Caldera, and SuSE). Secure printing capabilities for Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP secure Lexmark printer port, IBM AIX 4.3, 5.0, HP-UX 10,11, CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System), Apple Mac OS X 10.2, IBM OS/390 mainframe (with Levi, Ray & Shoup VPS Secure software), Command line file-send programs for Sun Solaris 7, 8, 9 and Linux (Red Hat 7 and 8, Caldera 3.1, and SuSE 8).The Lexmark PrintCryption Card is compatible with Levi, Ray & Shoup VPS/TCPIP 8.0 or later and VPS/Secure 1.0 or later. Supports secure key management protocols and supports both session keys and persistent keys. The key update process ensures secured transmission of new keys. The Lexmark PrintCryption card supports 128 bit, 192 bit, and 256 bit encryption keys. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card provides support for the Advanced Encryption Standard (Rijndael algorithm) to meet FIPS-197 requirements. Supported printers: Lexmark W820n, W820dn (a minimum of 32MB of printer RAM memory is required.) Note: Only network printers with standard Ethernet connections are supported. The MarkNet X2000 and MarkNet N2000 Print Servers do not support the Lexmark PrintCryption card. Unique TCP/IP port numbers are used for the encrypted print information. The card decrypts and prints the information appropriate for the port: Port 9150 ? persistent key management and control for RSA public and private key pairs; Port 9151 ? used for data encrypted with an AES persistent key; Port 9152 ? used for data encrypted with an AES session key. For use with Lexmark W820n and W820dn printers and the Lexmark X820e, X830e and X832e MFPs.
